The Braver Angels Alliance of Fairfax, Virginia, holds workshops, debates, and public presentations designed to bridge the political divide we are experiencing in our country. Our events help conservatives, liberals, and independents get past stereotypes and have civil conversations about current issues, helping open the way to productive problem-solving, mutual respect and understanding.

Note: the meeting will be from 7:00pm-9:00pm, at The McLean Governmental Center, 1437 Balls Hill Rd, McLean, VA 22101. Doors open at 6:30pm.
We’ll start with a 15-minute presentation, and Q&A, from Brian Vogt who is leading a listening tour designed to elicit a deep examination of ‘red America’s’ views on the state of US democracy. Brian is looking for any red-leaning American who’s interested in a frank discussion of their values and personal experiences. Please also contact Ashesh or Anne is you have any questions beforehand.
Next, we want to hear your views on Virginia’s November election results. Which issues and messages resonated with you, and what state and local issues might you want us to discuss going forward?
Thirdly, though we’ve seen polarization growing and getting louder over the past year, Braver Angels and other like-minded organizations have also been growing. BA’s new CEO Maury Giles is proposing enhancements to the movement and the work before us which you can review here. We want your input to those as well: Does the idea of ‘courageous citizenship’ inspire you? Can building trust across political divisions show our power as citizens? Are we getting at the heart of the matter? The organization will also focus on “Citizen Led Solutions”, a tactical approach designed to solve real local problems using our proven tools and techniques. We can and need to do more than just understand each other, though that must also be our starting point.

Braver Angels Alliances are grass-roots groups with balanced membership of conservative, liberal, and those citizens in-between host local meetings and events in a safe and organized setting.
Meetings and events are free and require no commitments. Just bring your willingness to listen, learn, and participate with civility, without judgment.
