We state our views freely and fully, without fear.
We treat people who disagree with us with honesty, dignity and respect.
We welcome opportunities to engage those with whom we disagree.
We believe all of us have blind spots and none of us are not worth talking to.
We seek to disagree accurately, avoiding exaggeration and stereotypes.
We look for common ground where it exists and, if possible, find ways to work together.
We believe that, in disagreements, both sides share and learn.
In Braver Angels, neither side is teaching the other or giving feedback on how to think or say things differently.

Join us for an exciting new Braver Angels pilot gathering designed to bring communities together for honest, human conversations about how immigration has affected our lives and what is at stake for all of us.
Born out of the Citizens Commission on Immigration, the Community Gathering on Immigration is a new 90-minute experience (not a workshop) that creates space for reflection, storytelling, and connection across diverse experiences and viewpoints. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of political identification, including Reds, Blues and Independents; the audience need not be Red-Blue balanced.
Together, we’ll explore personal stories and policy ideas through a Fishbowl-style conversation, inviting participants to share how immigration—past or present—has touched their lives, families, or communities as well as one policy that they support relating to immigration. These stories gathered will also contribute to Braver Angels’ Report to the Nation, to capture and elevate the voices of everyday Americans in the national conversation.
This workshop is ideal for individuals who are curious, concerned, or simply want to listen deeply and speak honestly about immigration in a respectful, community-based setting.
