Advancing the mission of Braver Angels by offering members a way to engage with each other in their community using the Braver Angels Way
The Braver Angels Alliance of Fairfax, Virginia, holds workshops, debates, and public presentations designed to bridge the political divide we are experiencing in our country. Our events help conservatives, liberals, and independents get past stereotypes and have civil conversations about current issues, helping open the way to productive problem-solving, mutual respect and understanding.
The Fairfax Alliance is one of more than 100 local chapters of the national Braver Angels organization: Find a Local Alliance. Learn more about our nation-wide initiatives to detoxify our political climate, visit Braver Angels.

Event Types
Join with others who have varied views to discuss current issues of political interest in the national, state-wide, or local environment. We provide a description of each meeting's topic in advance, often with links to reference material from multiple points of view. We discuss these in the "Braver Angels Way" to understand each other better, and often find common ground.
No matter where you are on your journey, there’s an experience here for you. Come participate in a workshop to build your skills and engage in conversations with those whom you disagree with using the Braver Angels Way.
Raise a glass and socialize with your fellow Braver Angels members in and around DC!
The Braver Angels Way
● We state our views freely and fully, without fear.
● We treat people who disagree with us with honesty, dignity and respect.
● We welcome opportunities to engage those with whom we disagree.
● We believe all of us have blind spots and none of us are not worth talking to.
● We seek to disagree accurately, avoiding exaggeration and stereotypes.
● We look for common ground where it exists and, if possible, find ways to work together.
● We believe that, in disagreements, both sides share and learn.
● In Braver Angels, neither side is teaching the other or giving feedback on how to think or say things differently.
